On May 8, 2026, Consul General Mme.  Zhao Liying attended the 2026 National Conference of the Hong Kong-Canada Business Association in Edmonton. The event brought together more than 200 representatives from government, business organizations, companies and Chinese community groups in Canada and Hong Kong.

In her remarks, Mme. Zhao recognized the Association’s efforts to strengthen China-Canada economic and trade ties and shared updates on China’s economic outlook, bilateral trade and cooperation under the 15th Five-Year Plan. She highlighted Hong Kong’s role in connecting Canada with opportunities arising from China’s development and encouraged the Association to continue serving as a bridge for closer business ties, people-to-people exchanges and the China-Canada new strategic partnership.
